Many veterans transition directly from military life to college or university, which can be a major life change. Adjusting to the new environment, culture, and experiences of campus life can be challenging for many, with some veterans facing additional difficulties related to physical or mental health or practical aspects of this transition. That's where the VITAL program comes in to offer support.
VITAL Program
The Veterans Integration to Academic Leadership (VITAL) program is dedicated to enhancing academic retention and success for veterans by providing:
- On-campus clinical care and coordination
- Educating and training the campus community to improve understanding of veterans' unique strengths and challenges
- Collaboration with local VA medical centers, the Veterans Benefits Administration, faculty and staff, and community resources to ensure comprehensive support
